After being falsely accused of murdering King Joffrey, fans have wondered nearly all season if Tyrion would escape execution. Now we know the answer: Yes, but not without committing deeds that will haunt him forever. Just have a conversation with him? So he goes up to see his father. I think sometimes people just get pushed too far, sometimes people break. And I think Tyrion has reached his point.
And despite his misgivings, he fell in love with Shae, he let himself give his heart to her. I think the two actions are quite different, although they occur within moments of each other. Your threats have to carry weight. And it will haunt him.
Initially introduced as a prostitute, Shae quickly became Tyrion's mistress after the two began a secret romantic relationship.
In time, Shae served as Sansa Stark's handmaiden during her time in King's Landing, but her connection to Sansa only added to her paranoia when it came to trusting Tyrion. At the start of Game of Thrones season 2, Tyrion snuck Shae into the Tower of the Hand so they could continue their relationship.
To cover their tracks, Shae agreed to be Sansa's handmaiden, and the two women grew closer. Tywin caught wind of Tyrion and Shae's relationship, complicating matters by forcing his youngest son into a marriage with Sansa.

To his surprise, Shae appeared as the final witness for the crown, claiming that Tyrion kidnapped her and forced her to become his mistress. He strangles her, finds Tywin on the toilet and kills him, in an artful touch, with Joffrey's crossbow. Tyrion then flees Kings Landing. Tywin's made of spite.
The loss of the security and strength provided by Tywin "is yet another brick out of the foundation" of the family and will have ramifications for the Lannisters and many others, she says.
Much happens outside the Lannister family, too. We know he feels like he can't escape his past, which suggests he might feel a little unworthy of the always-honorable Brienne. So while he does love her, and some part of him probably wants to be with her still, it didn't feel right to him. She is younger and more beautiful than Cersei , and of all the contenders, Sansa probably has the most personal reasons for wanting to see Cersei come to an untimely end.
If what Cersei holds dear is her own life, I think Sansa's command could take it. Since Cersei and Euron didn't sleep together until after Jaime left King's Landing , there's no reason anyone up north would know about the pregnancy. However, Tyrion's method of appealing to Cersei centered on how she could still save her unborn child while Euron was standing right behind her.
