Dimples are a highly inheritable trait. This means that people with dimples or have family members with dimples, will most likely have children with dimples. This results from having genes what makes up our DNA containing an allele one out of two parts of the gene that is dimple-dominant.
When there is a dominant allele, such as dimples DD or Dd , the children are often going to get them, too… but not all the time. Just like children, the dimple trait is unpredictable, which is why they are categorized as an irregular dominant trait.
